PREVIEW: God Is In The TV Zine at The New Colossus Festival, New York – Mannequin Death Squad

When: Thursday 5 March 2026

Where: Parkside Lounge, 317 East Houston Street, New York, NY 10002

God Is In The TV Zine is delighted to be invited to curate a stage at the 7th edition of The New Colossus Festival which takes place in a number of venues around New York’s Lower East Side (3 – 8 March).

This week we preview the five artists who will be performing.

Mannequin Death Squad (Australia) is an instrument-swapping, rock/punk band from Melbourne. The fiercely independent duo has left a trail of enthusiastic and passionate fans in their wake across the globe and appearing at New Colossus Festival will inevitably convert more fans. Mixing catchy pop melodies with ferocious punk rock riffs, the duo, comprising Dan and Ellie, seamlessly switch between drums, guitar, and vocals. They are known for their DIY touring ethic, bringing their exhilarating music to life onstage delivered with a fire in their belly.

The duo have released two albums to date, Super Mental Psycho in 2022 and last year’s Wise and Dangerous which was accompanied by a European tour in August, playing UK dates in Leeds, Edinburgh, and Bristol, plus shows in Paris, Germany, and Belgium. We are delighted Mannequin Death Squad are making the journey from Melbourne to New York.

Fun fact: When asked to share their most notable live performance to date early in 2024, the response was staggering:
“Playing Ziro Festival in the foothills of the Himalayas in India would definitely be a recent highlight. They gave us a headline slot, we played for over an hour, and we’re lucky enough to have 4,000ish lovely humans sing our songs back to us in a foreign land. An absolute dream!”
