NEWS: Radhika shares beguiling new single ‘Starry Eyes’ Ft. Gerard Love (ex-Teenage Fanclub) & Mitch Mitchell (The Pastels)

Scottish act Radhika, featuring Radhika Meera Dade, , Future Pilot AKA/Sushil K Dade and Eric MacDonald celebrate joining Glass Modern by teasing a track from their forthcoming album CINE POP.

‘Starry Eyes’ is a gorgeous shimmering cosmic lullaby. Dade’s evocative vocal is transportive and wistful, invested with all the complex emotions conjured by a loved ones passing over the next realm, floating above an enveloping jangle: it’s redolent of the keening and beguiling sounds of The Sundays and Cocteau Twins. It features special guest contributions from Gerard Love (vocals, acoustic guitar/piano) and Mitch Mitchell (backing vocals) and was previously released as a super rare transparent green flexi-disc but now available digitally for the very first time.

Radhika says of the single: “I was looking through some old black and white pictures with my grandmother Soma and she said in a soft voice ‘I miss my mother’. This gentle intergenerational exchange was the starting point for Starry Eyes. The words ‘your disintegration is a cosmic lullaby’ encapsulates the essence of the song, which explores the passing of souls into the next realm.”

Radhika’s music takes inspiration from the films of David Lynch, her Indian heritage, and fellow pop artists Cocteau Twins, Broadcast, Felt, Strawberry Switchblade and The Go-Betweens.
