LEMFRECK signs off one of his biggest years yet with the release of his reflective and soulful new single ‘Thank You’, watch the video below. Showcasing a gentler, more melodic side, the track is a tender and gospel inspired expression of gratitude and swims in abundance above forgiving instrumentation. It’s a fitting bookend to an action-packed 2025 that included performances at The Great Escape, Glastonbury and Primavera, as well as sold-out headline shows in both London and Cardiff.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the single, LEMFRECK explains: “I’ve had to deal with grief a fair bit over the last couple of years. I can’t stop that, but I can thank people whilst they are here. It’s something I don’t think we do enough”.
Thank You marks the first new music from LEMFRECK since the release of his acclaimed EP WE HAVE BEEN HERE in May, co-produced with Harry Edwards (Beyoncé, Travis Scott).
An independent artist celebrated for his introspective songwriting and refined production, LEMFRECK has steadily become one of Wales’ most compelling emerging voices. Named a BBC Introducing One to Watch in 2021 and later crowned BBC Radio Wales’ Introducing Artist of the Year in 2023, his rise has been fuelled by standout live performances across the UK, Europe and North America, including SXSW, M for Montreal, Love Trails, The Great Escape, Horizons Gorwelion and his lauded appearances at Glastonbury and Primavera.
It was his 2023 album Blood, Sweat & Fears that marked a career-defining moment, capturing his experience of growing up in Wales while celebrating his Newport roots and community. The album’s powerful messaging led to LEMFRECK producing and presenting the BBC documentary Black Music Wales, celebrating generations of Welsh Black talent. In 2024, he won the Welsh Music Prize for Blood, Sweat & Fears, cementing his status as an essential new voice in UK music.
With a new EP slated for 2026, new single Thank You sees LEMFRECK pause to reflect, reset and honour those who have shaped his journey so far. With momentum building, 2026 is already poised to be his most significant year yet.
