NEWS: Heavenly announce tour for 2026 to follow release of first album in thirty years

Indiepop legends Heavenly will be touring the UK, Europe and the USA in 2026. As previously revealed on God Is In The TV, a brand-new album will be released in February.

After successful recent re-issues of the singles and albums that first appeared on legendary indie label Sarah Records (UK) and K Records (US) in the 1990s, Heavenly have played several sell-out shows in London, Paris, New York and LA.

The original fanbase, still passionate about the band, has been bolstered by a new generation of younger followers, many of whom discovered Heavenly’s music on Tiktok. The band’s streaming figures are now over 2m per month (and still rising). Formed in 1989 out of the ashes of short-lived punk pop combo Talulah Gosh, original members Amelia Fletcher, Peter Momtchiloff, Rob Pursey and Mathew Fletcher were joined later by Cathy Rogers, and the full Heavenly sound – a combination of an energetic punkish rhythm section, sweet, wandering lead guitar lines and full-on girl group harmonies – was consolidated. The band’s career was cut tragically short when drummer Mathew took his own life in 1996. Heavenly’s music was perhaps best exemplified in their single ‘P.U.N.K Girl‘, where anger, passion, and infectious melody happened all at once.  The songs on the new album use similar ingredients.

Determinedly independent, Heavenly will release their new album on Skep Wax Records, a label run by Heavenly band members Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey.  Skep Wax also releases work by new bands like The Cords, Jeanines and Sassyhiya, all of them part of a thriving international DIY scene.
