Fast-rising Dublin six-piece BOLD LOVE have released their debut EP ’Dancing & Loving’ led by the emphatic lead single ‘All The Lives.’ Their latest track encapsulates everything powerful and emotive about the band, while adding the swagger that has been turning heads at their recent live shows, including standout slots at Latitude, All Points East and All Together Now. BOLD LOVE have heralded the release of their EP with landmark headline shows in London, Dublin and a number of special in-stores.
“All The Lives’ is about growing up and watching people join the real world and feeling out of touch with that” explains lead singer and songwriter Cian Ó’Maonlaí. “It’s about the heartbreak of drifting from someone and seeing them change but beneath it all I think it’s about the fear of being alone.” The ’ Dancing & Loving’ EP brings together BOLD LOVE’s most defining songs to date, from the moving reflection of ‘Feel You Close’, the heartfelt Irish homage ‘I’m Home’, to the infectious, angular guitars of today’s lead single ‘All The Lives’. Produced by Richie Kennedy (Interpol, Celeste, White Lies), the collection showcases the band’s richly layered sound and emotional depth, capturing the widescreen ambition and intimacy that define their music.
“It’s about youth, love, death and a sense of place and belonging” said Ó’Maonlaí. “It’s a reflection on navigating life up until now. This EP is our way of trying to deal with things. Life is mad and we’re just Dancing & Loving our way through it.” “Your cultural landscape and political climate will always shape the art you make” added guitarist Jack Cody. “Whether you’re looking inwards or casting your gaze further afield for inspiration and writing material. A lot of Cian’s lyrics are introspective but set against the wider context of the place we grew up in and what’s expected of you. We’re trying to do the same with our music as well, and not be boxed into any one sound.” BOLD LOVE have already drawn praise from across the music press whilst cultivating a devoted following at home in Ireland and beyond. Armed with their debut EP under their belts, one of Ireland’s most compelling new musical exports are already gearing up for the rest of the year and beyond, with new music and special live shows set to be announced soon.
