NEWS: Clutter share careering new single ‘Superstar’ ahead of UK tour

Clutter have released a dissonant, grungy exocet of a new single, in the shape of ‘Superstar’ via PNKSLM Recordings. The track will also be available on 7” vinyl in January 2026.

Their first new release since the success of their first EP, Loves You, released last Spring, ‘Superstar’ is an pick up where Clutter’s debut left off and turns it up to eleven. Hilda Ander and Emma French’s vocals build a bracing and urgent tension in the verse, breaking into addictive guitar slides, hammer horror refrains, careering into a solid wall of distortion in the choruses. Dreams of being a superstar smash head long into reality.

Speaking of the track, the band said: “Superstar is a heavy-hitting, grungy rock-song about being a band on tour. It’s a song for everyone who dreams about being a star, and about all of the bumps and worries you may meet along the way.”

A Swedish quartet made up of 21 year-olds Hilda, Emma, Ove Jerndal, and Ville Scott, Clutter channel the spirit of grunge and post-hardcore through distorted guitars and fuzzy vocals, blending the tones of 90s rock into their post-modern indie core. A band that comes close to chaos but just holds on, Clutter’s electricity is built around their own crackling potential.

Released in April this year, Clutter’s debut EP, Loves You, fleshed out the quartet’s sonic world. The six track collection fused existential lyrical ideas, post-hardcore guitars, and feisty, punk-spirited calls to arms.

Earlier this year, Clutter toured the UK as support for Hinds, which included a show at London’s Electric Ballroom, as well as their own London headline date at The Lexington. Clutter will now be bringing their sound to the Pitchfork Festival London stage, performing at 93 Feet East on 4 November 2025 as well as more UK shows.
