Irish duo bog band are back with their new single ‘Moonlighting’, a shimmering ode to a late-summer romance that never quite got off the ground. Sitting somewhere between the rhinestone twang of Glen Campbell and the sun-drenched tones of The Replacements, it captures the tension of hesitation: doing nothing, or doing something wrong.
Gloriously introspective, warm, sleek stylish and buoyant. It captures the first blossoming whispers of love. With ‘Moonlighting,’ bog band continue to blend sharp pop instincts with off-kilter charm, reaffirming their reputation as one of Ireland’s most intriguing new acts.
With airplay from BBC 6Music’s Zakia and NTS, bog band have been quietly carving out a reputation as one of Ireland’s most intriguing new acts, selling out Bello Bar at home as well as Servant Jazz Quarters and Avalon Cafe, in London and supported artists including Ruthven and Kean Kavanagh.
Upcoming record Mocashno Days, out at the end of October is the follow-up to 2024’s Vanity Project. This is a record that builds off fragments of pop memory reassembled into something uncanny and heartfelt. Mocashno Days catches bog band between the before and after, exploring the tension of ‘the middle.’
