NEWS: Brògeal release new single ‘Draw The Line’ from debut album ‘Tuesday Paper Club’

‘Draw The Line’ is the new single from Brògeal, the Falkirk five-piece who have been tearing up venues across the UK and Ireland over the last two years. It is a precursor to the band’s debut LP Tuesday Paper Club out 17 October via Play It Again Sam.  ‘Draw The Line’ is an accordion-led roustabout, and is a portrait of Falkirk’s sketchy local characters, lyrically destined for either “the jail or in the ground”. Singer Daniel shares more on the new track:

“‘Draw The Line’ is a song I wrote about the sort of people you get in small towns who deludedly think that they run the place because they sell drugs and think they’re the hard man, the sort of love island looking coke heads, everybody knows one. It’s a strange subject matter but it’s full of tongue in cheek lyrics and has a certain melancholy about it because at the end of the day I can’t help feel sorry for these guys. It was written to sound like an Irish Rebel song and it still does in ways but when the boys jumped on it’s adapted this Libertines, The Clash sort of sound which we love.”

Tuesday Paper Club promises an album rich with instruments such as accordion, banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, and perky penny whistle. It blends ancient folk traditions with an indie Gen Z sensibility, creating a sound that laughs, sings and dances in the face of 21st century darkness. The album was recorded at Black Bay Studio on the Isle of Lewis. This residential studio, a refurbished fish processing factory, offers stunning bay views. The five members of Brogeal stayed at the studio with producer Richie Kennedy, an Irish Producer/Engineer/Mixer based in London. Kennedy’s previous credits include work with artists such as The Libertines, Cardinals, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Dua Lipa, Kylie, and U2.
