NEWS: The return of The Dears with a new album and tour announced

Following the triumphant lap of honour for the 20th anniversary of their classic No Cities Left album last year, The Dears are back with their ninth studio album, Life Is Beautiful! Life Is Beautiful! Life Is Beautiful! which will be released through Next Door Records on November 7th.

It’s their first new record since 2020’s Lovers Rock and arrives with praise from New York Times best-selling author Jeff VanderMeer who calls it “a new masterpiece…evidence that The Dears are a vital part of the musical landscape, and also just completely doing their own thing, as usual”.

The band previewed the album with the release of June’s single ‘Babe, We’ll Find A Way’ and have now made a second track available digitally – ‘Tears Of A Nation’ of which frontman Murray Lightburn says “The collective battle through noise is noise in itself. There is a decision to engage or to go it alone. To be part of the collective cries or to cry alone. The question here is which approach is the right one? Which path will get us through the noise?” Watch the video for the track below.

The Canadians, known for their powerful and celebratory live shows, have announced a new run of dates for 2026, including the following UK dates:
