Ahead of major festival slots at Latitude and All Together Now, fast-rising Dublin six-piece BOLD LOVE return with their lush, evocative new single, ‘Feel You Close’, out today. A moving reflection on how we carry the people we’ve lost, the track deepens the band’s signature widescreen sound – resonant, richly layered, and increasingly distinct – cementing their status as one of Ireland’s most compelling new musical exports. Stylish, poetic, funky, touching, cinematic and sweeping. It’s a fresh forward-facing take on a universal theme.
Lead singer and songwriter Cian Ó Maonlaí said, “Firstly, I wanted to capture that moment when someone shares bad news…I have vivid memories of that feeling—the colour draining from the room, the air thickening, and before a word is spoken, knowing something has happened. From there, I wanted to explore how we carry the people we’ve lost within us. We see them in our own likeness, in the small gestures that remind others of them. I love when someone tells me they see my grandad in me—whether it’s in a facial expression or the way I use my hands when I speak. That’s when I feel closest to him.”
‘Feel You Close’ follows on from recent singles including ‘Talking & Drifting’ and the Irish homage ‘I’m Home’ – each release helping to build momentum ahead of the band’s debut body of work, due this Autumn and produced by Richie Kennedy (Interpol, Celeste, White Lies).
With 2025 already off to a flying start, BOLD LOVE have drawn praise from across the UK and Irish music press and have cultivated a devoted following at home in Ireland.
Though still with only a handful of singles under their belts, the band has already landed on key tastemaker lists including Hot Press‘ Hot for 2024, Whelan’s Ones to Watch, and RTÉ 2FM’s Rising for 2025.
