The Life Project - Codis
Owain Paciuszko 28/03/2009
There are a lot of familiar post-punk tricks deployed by The Life Project, but it doesn't stop this single from being appealing. Lead track Codis is catchy and fun, featuring some good sing-a-long backing vocals over the chorus, a solid drum beat and a buoyant bassline. Second track 11:11 has a nice riff that is first kept to the bassline before becoming a vocal, in a fashion somewhat similar to the poppier Jimmy Eat World tracks. It's another solid song that warrants this little record a double A-Side status in my book, and serves as a good calling card for a smart, savvy indie-pop band.
