The Answer - Comfort Zone
Richard Wink 22/11/2009
Bigger than you might expect Northern Irish retro rockers The Answer take us back to the eighties with a power ballad that goes against all common sense and decency. Surprisingly the song isn't that bad, with vocalist Corman Neeson's distinct vocal tone melting into the easy pace of the track, leading thousands of lighters to flicker in the air
Though this particular single is unlikely to crossover into the mainstream The Answer appear to be steadily making waves after lucrative support slots on AC/DC's world tour, performing on David Letterman's chat show and the appearance of one of their tracks in Guitar Hero World Tour, for better or worse we are likely to hear a lot more from them in the future.
If you want to critique The Answer then you can beat them up on the horribly regressive sub-Led Zep wail of 'Here to Stay'. But since rock is mainly about sticking two fingers up and having a good time, then we will allow them to dwell in their 'Comfort Zone'.
