Sky Ferreira - One

Sky Ferreira oozes every quality Miley Cyrus (another Disney starlet who's at the cusp of adulthood) craves to posses - she's mature, appropriately provocative -Taylor Momsen could learn a thing or two from her; cool, credible and unique. The former L.A club kid turned It Girl first burst onto the music scene with her stunning array of covers, ranging from Miike Snow's 'Animal' to a track titled 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun' that samples Dr Dre's very own 'Next Episode'. Both tracks showcased Sky's main asset, that not being her 'incredible' talent to be able to tap into a goldmine tween demographic, but her voice - it's rumoured to have a range similar to Mariah Carey's.

She's another internet success story, with Ferreira's career originating from a haphazard message she sent to electro-pop production team Bloodshy & Avant (Britney Spears, Kelis, Madonna) on MySpace, and after a couple of years of overseas communication and over a million profile views, it seems the time has arrived for her to be unleashed upon the public. While buzz track '17' got the critics talking, it's new single 'One' that will have the public buying, with the latter being a modern robo-pop stomper. On first play it comes across a bit sub-dued and lacklustre, but after a couple of spins the understated metronomic vocals, and the squiggly stammering synths begin evade your brain, and by the end all of those doubts are now eradicated - Gaga & Co watch out, Sky's coming out.
