Juliette & The Licks - Hot Kiss
Tim Miller 06/10/2006
Just look at the band, and the title. Licks, kiss, hot? This song couldn't represent those words any more if it tried. Screeching, ascending guitar chords, some suitably lustful lyrics, 'Hot Kiss won't you tell me what you miss boy', sung by Juliette on scorching form, blistering heat emitting from the occasional solo and no-holds-barred drums, this is what Sheryl Crow would sound like after a week in a tourbus with Primal Scream, sponsored by Jack Daniels. This song sounds like every festival over the summer stamped into one dusty ground, lit up by a blazing August sun.
And as such, the time and place for this single has long since ridden off into the sunset.
