Boy Kill Boy - Civil Sin

Don't believe the hype. Boy Kill Boy may be positively swimming in buzz these days, but if they want to lend some artistic credibility to that build-up, this isn't the way to do it. Miles behind their exuberant, brilliant last release “Suzie,” this is an over-produced dead weight that's drowning in melodrama, synths, and did-they-really-say-that-lyrics (“Who am I? Only/One more life that you can owe me”). It's a damn shame, after the breath of fresh air that was “Suzie” to go to this vacuum-packed, freeze-dried version of rock. Countdown to the disappointment.
