My Chemical Romance - Na Na Na
Joe Coyle 31/10/2010
As a statement of intent from their new album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, this song is something of a revelation. Gone is the majesty of pomposity which made the Black Parade a great album and it is replaced with the bastard son of the MC5's and produce something The Ramones may have been proud of. Hurtling along at a breakneck pace until a middle-eight stolen from the eighties kicks in with undertones of Queen and hair rock with a soaring guitar solo.
It could be argued that lyrically the song isn't as catchy as previous efforts… but the chorus has a habit of sticking in your head for days. You just can't help but be swept along by the energy of the song.
It is loud, abrasive, fun. What more can you ask for?
