30 Seconds to Mars - The Kill

Does the world really need another band like 30 Seconds To Mars? Jared Leto obviously seems to think so and puts forward his case semi-convincingly in his band's UK release of emo-rock hit 'The Kill'. The vocals strike the optimum balance of melancholy and spite as the rising verses segue into the chorus hook of the track, Leto screams an all too familiar scream over a wash of guitars and string sections.
'The Kill' is certainly strong enough to appeal to those for whom My Chemical Romance and Panic! At The Disco fall under the category of idols, but there is precious little originality offered in the track and certainly far from any evidence of the thrill and excitement promised by the title.
